The Contemporary Asian Studies Student Union will be hosting a Career Panel on Tuesday, November 5th from 1-3PM in room 208N at the Munk School! Speakers from various disciplines will discuss their careers, as well as give advice about achieving success and professional development. There will be a question and answer period after the panel, and refreshments will be served.
REBECCA HUANG – Rebecca’s litigation practice is directed towards complex corporate and commercial matters, including class actions, shareholder disputes, breaches of fiduciary and contractual obligations, defamation, fraud recovery, and economic loss disputes. Rebecca has extensive trial experience before the Superior Court of Justice and appellate experience before the Court of Appeal in Ontario. She regularly advises and represents parties in international proceedings that have connections with multiple jurisdictions including the U.S., Hong Kong, Taiwan and mainland China.
ANTHONY LEE – Anthony is the Director of North American operations for FIA Japan Ltd., an educational consulting firm in management and executive training for Japanese multinationals in the auto industry. Anthony is also the owner/consultant for Asian Art Research, which deals with art consulting, consultative sales and business development in Asian arts departments of various auction houses and museums. In addition, he is the author of “Chanoyu – The Japanese Tea Ceremony”, “Zen Wisdom” and “Zen in 10 Easy Lessons”, as well as an Episode Specialist for “Lost and Sold” (Slice) and “Deals from the Dark Side” (OLN).
BILL TU – Bill has been with the Federal Government for the past 16 years and employed with the Canada Border Services Agency. He began his career as a Customs Officer in Niagara Falls while attending Brock University. After earning an honours degree in Political Science and International Affairs, Bill relocated to the Toronto region and continued his career with the Agency in areas such as Intelligence and Enforcement, Media Relations, Project Management and Trade Operations.
DERRICK WAN – Derrick is currently Manager in Operations for ACE INA insurance, climbing up the corporate ladder from financial analyst to financial manager in the insurance industry. After earning his Bachelor of Commerce, specializing in finance, here at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School, he obtained his MBA at the University of Phoenix. Soon after, Derrick became a Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional (FCIP) from the Insurance Institute of Canada, and holds a Canadian Risk Management certification.
